Does he ever slow down?

It's been more than a month since I last wrote about Ethan, and he is an entirely different creature than he was then. He crawls so fast that I occasionally find myself walking through the house looking for him. He thinks it's hilarious and has taken to hiding in corners and behind chairs. Or he'll close the door to his room and sit there quietly until I knock and peek my head around the door. He thinks he's sooo funny. And he is.

The last 2 weeks were all about new things for Ethan. On tuesday, he reached up for me and said "mama". (John was so jealous.) On wednesday, he reached for John and said "dada", AND he stood up on his own. He let go of things and stood there while he looked at a toy in his hand. And on the same day, he was in the middle of the floor, pushed himself into a squat, and stood up with no support! This new found confidence led him to try to open the basement door (yes, he can reach doorknobs already) and try to turn on the oven. It was an exciting day all around. This tuesday, he FINALLY cut one of his top teeth. The other one looks like it will be any day. His gums have been so swollen, it's a relief that they won't be bothering him anymore (until more teeth, but please don't remind me.) And this wednesday (I know, I'm almost done), Ethan said "fish" and "thank you". "Fish" sounded like "tish" but he was clearly talking to his fish toy each time he said it, so I'm pretty confident he knew what he was saying. And "thank you" was really repeating me, but I am already proud of my polite boy.

So that's Ethan. And me? I'm tired. I'm getting enough sleep, but my body is just abused all day, every day, so I never really feel great. Ethan's weight is doing alot of damage to my back. And he's even slowed down the weight gain so much I sometimes worry. (He's fine. I'm just a worrier.) Can you tell I need a break? I'm taking one at the end of the month for 3 whole days. I hope it's enough.

But, I'm loving that I get to be home with Ethan every day. I always get to be there when he does new things. I can't imagine my life any other way. I love it.

Pictures, cont.

After looking at it again, it seems that a family login to www.Snapfish.com would not be ideal. Were someone to order prints, it doesn't have an option to not save your credit card info, so anyone could order and accidentally charge someone else. So, we will limit it to those who want prints because you will need to create your own login. If you just wanted to see pictures of Ethan, check out John's website at www.tenfootrabbits.com . He updated the photos immediately after I chastized him in my last post :)

Pictures of Ethan

Because John seems to be lax in updating pictures on his site, I wanted to offer another option. I upload all of our pictures to Snapfish.com and we are willing to share them (if you have an account or want to start one) or give you access to a family account that we can set up. This is really only for those who might also want prints (Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, etc.), but anyone is welcome. Just drop us an email!

Also, we would love it if those of you who have taken pictures of Ethan would share them with us. I am working on Ethan's scrapbook and am realizing that we missed a few things. And that we don't have a lot of good pictures of his extended family and friends, so we would love pictures of all of you!
